Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Olympia, Washington

Job Description
- Position in an outpatient Urology clinic administering chemotherapy.
- RN must be certified to administer chemotherapy and comfortable with catheter changes.
- Responsible for performing special chemotherapy procedures such as Gemcitabine/Gemzar bladder infusions post tumor removal.
- Duties include Urodynamic Studies (UDS), Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS), catheter changes, clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) teaching, voiding trials, injections, triaging patient calls, managing in-basket, and medication refills.
- No weekends or on-call required.
- Outpatient clinic setting.
- Locals and travel nurses accepted.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of Oncology nursing experience (ONS/ONCC certification required).
- Certifications:
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification required.
- Chemotherapy certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications typically required (verify with clinical track).
- Licensing: Must have an active Washington RN license (pending state license not accepted).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted.
- Work Schedule: No weekends or call; no floating between units.
Facility & Work Environment
- Outpatient Urology Clinic within a hospital system.
- Charting system: EPIC.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
- COVID vaccine or declination.
- Respirator fit testing required annually for travel nurses.
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required.
Training & Competency
- Must complete required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Core compliance and regulatory modules.
- Specialty-specific modules for Oncology and outpatient care as assigned.
- Competency exams as applicable (medication/pharmacology, chemotherapy).
- Epic training modules completion required within orientation period.
Additional Notes
- Must sign contract for 26 weeks.
- No weekend or on-call shifts.
- Locals accepted but not required.
- No floating between units.
- First-time travelers accepted.
