Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Technologist

Location: Thomson, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics (Infants to Pediatrics rare)
• Specialty: CT Scan and X-Ray
• Average Volume:

  • 15-20 CT scans per 24-hour day
  • 20-30 X-rays per 24-hour day (lower volume on nights)
• Unit Systems: Epic, Fuji PACS
• Floating: Between CT and X-Ray
• Call Requirements: None
• Weekends: Every other weekend
• Holidays:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
  • If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
  • If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work 2 of them
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (1st timers accepted)

Certifications Required

• Mandatory:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• Other Certifications (may be required depending on specialty and role):

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • State License (Georgia) for CRTs & RRTs
  • Tech Certification Verification (if applicable)

Compliance & Screening

• Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
• Clinical screening will be conducted to determine clinical fit before final approval.

Orientation & Training

• Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours is proportional to contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = 12 hours NBO).

Required Documents & Health Screenings

• Identification: Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification and criminal history checks
• Education Verification: Verification of related degree required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start
• TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; TB questionnaire required annually
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination
  • Flu Vaccine or Declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
• References: 2 clinical references required
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated within the last 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RNs and LVNs)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Competency Exam (for Nursing and Allied Health)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (if applicable)

Additional Notes

• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
• Floating between CT and X-Ray required
• No call responsibilities

This position is suitable for Radiology/Cardiology technologists with at least 2 years of experience, who hold BLS and ARRT certifications, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population. Prior travel experience is not required.
