Position Details

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Social Security trace and county searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
  • Nationwide sex offender check
  • Education verification (ASN/BSN for RNs) – certificates not accepted
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 1 year of start
  • Transcript or diploma accepted if education verification is pending
  • NURSYS verification required for RN licenses
  • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (New York) with 1-year expiration

Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for certain units)
  • Specialty-specific competency exams as applicable

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by a licensed provider, confirming fitness to work
  • Respirator Fit Test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask models required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes, updated annually
  • TB Questionnaire within 30 days of start and updated annually if history of positive TB
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series, declination, or positive titer)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) or approved medical/religious exemption (booster not required)
  • Respirator clearance via RespSafety questionnaire prior to start

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Photo for badge (specific guidelines on background and appearance)
  • Review and sign confidentiality agreement and job description prior to start
  • Completion of RN modules including medication exam and suicide precautions quiz (minimum 80% score)
  • EPIC test out process for RNs (communication handled by facility)
  • Physical form specific to facility, merged with physician statement
  • Completion of annual training modules prior to start
  • Compliance with facility policies on personal appearance, safety, infection control, DEI, HIPAA, OSHA, sexual harassment, and emergency preparedness

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience in the specialty, who hold the required certifications and meet all health, background, and facility-specific requirements. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
