Travel RN - Emergency Department

Location: Washington, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Department (ED)
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: As required by the facility
  • Must be willing to float to other units as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license in Missouri (or temporary work permit)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
    • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Minimum 1+ years of Emergency Room (ER) experience required
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card
  • Graduate of a state-approved School of Nursing

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
  • Work within the scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and strong communication skills
  • Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, lifting and pushing patients (up to 50 lbs), and occasional kneeling or crouching

Work Environment

  • Clean, air-conditioned facility
  • Use of EPIC electronic medical record system and other standard medical equipment
  • Dress code: Black scrubs

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions require approval)
  • Facility is a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke and STEMI Center
  • Recognized for quality care and safety, including multiple awards and high safety grades

This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs seeking a travel assignment in a well-regarded acute care hospital with a strong trauma and stroke program.
