Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Midland, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Start date: Within the next 3-5 weeks
- 1st time travelers considered
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Required Years of Experience: 2 years preferred
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Required Certifications
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all clinical positions)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required as applicable (Antepartum, L&D, Mother-Baby, NICU)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for ER
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - Preferred for L&D (Intermediate or Advanced AWHONN)
- Other certifications as applicable (CHEMO, ENPC)
Licenses & Verifications
- State License verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification for RN required within 30 days of start
- Tech Certification verification required within 30 days of start (for applicable allied roles)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 10-year Criminal Background Check required within 30 days of start (all locations lived/worked)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check required within 30 days of start
- Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal History Check required within 30 days prior to start
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry and Employability Status Checks required within 30 days prior to start
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Drug Screening and Blood Testing Consent Form must be reviewed/signed; onsite drug screen during orientation
- TB Questionnaire required for all candidates regardless of TB status
- Compliance Checklist to be signed by candidate and agency
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract)
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask (N95 Fit Test) within 1 year of start (facility will not accept PAPR)
- Immunizations required (must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Rubeola (Measles) - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B - Positive titer or series (3) required
- Varicella - Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox required
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Agency Declination required (October 1 - March 31)
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable
- Competency Exam required within 1 year of start
- Age Specific Competency Exam required within 1 year of start
Additional Information
- References: 2 required within 3 years of start
- Employment Application/Resume required
- Skills Checklist required and must be updated annually
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required and updated annually
This position offers a comprehensive set of requirements to ensure compliance, safety, and quality care delivery. It is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience and the necessary certifications. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
