Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Specialty: Registered Nurse – Urology/GYN Oncology Infusion
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (08:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments for Urology Oncology and GYN Oncology patients
- Familiarity with intravesical bladder instillations for bladder cancer required
- Experience in outpatient oncology infusion preferred
- Charting system: Oncology MedConnect (Cerner)
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Must have a valid District of Columbia nursing license prior to submission
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology infusion nursing required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
- Chemotherapy/Oncology certification (ONC/ONCC) required
- Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy provider card preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Experience with outpatient oncology infusion
- Ability to perform intravesical bladder instillations
- Familiarity with Oncology MedConnect (Cerner) charting system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
- E-Verify and I9 documentation required prior to start
- Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite)
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license verification
- Skills checklist and competency exams required prior to start and updated annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam with minimum 80% score within 3 years
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (not specifically stated for this role)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
