Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks as specified)
Job Description
- Work at New Jersey’s first and only freestanding cancer hospital.
- May submit application with a pending New Jersey license.
- Required credentials:
- R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR CNMT, NMTCB(CT) (hard stop requirement).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of specialty experience preferred (higher value taken).
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required).
- Schedule: Every 3rd weekend required, no on-call duties.
- Floating: May float to the main hospital as needed (connected by pedestrian bridge).
- No block scheduling.
- Locals accepted.
- BLS certification required.
- Range of exams includes diagnostic to therapeutic Nuclear Medicine studies.
- EPIC charting system used.
- Equipment: GE and Philips Nuclear Medicine Cameras.
- Dress code: Black scrubs.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology specialty.
- Prior travel experience not required.
Certifications & Licenses
- Mandatory:
- R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) or CNMT, NMTCB(CT) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Other certifications may be required depending on specific roles or units (noted below).
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Every 3rd weekend required.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Floating to main hospital as needed.
- No block scheduling.
Equipment & Systems
- EPIC electronic health record system.
- GE and Philips Nuclear Medicine Cameras.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Must clear background checks including criminal, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches.
- Drug screening within 30 days of start required.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required.
- Physical exam within 12 months required, confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Fit testing and respiratory medical clearance required prior to start.
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
- Various health immunizations and titers required:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Color blindness testing required if job tasks require color discrimination.
- Competency exams and pass/fail testing (e.g., medication, EKG) required within 72 hours of signing.
- References: Two references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
- Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start).

- Locals are accepted for this position.
- First-time travelers are welcome; prior travel experience is not mandatory.
- Floating policy must be acknowledged for every new assignment.
- Various certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, and others may be required depending on the specific unit or role; confirm with program coordinator if applicable.
- Annual education and safety training required.
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs.
- Vendor medical clearance and various facility-specific documents must be completed prior to start.
