Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description
- Position: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
- Required NY nursing license
- Minimum 3+ years clinical experience in Labor and Delivery
- Prior travel experience required
- Experience circulating C-sections
- Nursery duties may include every shift: comfortable with catching, initial stabilization, and ongoing care until transport if needed (immediate care and stabilization of critical newborns, not ongoing critical care)
- Certifications required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Fetal Monitoring certification within the past 2 years
Location Restriction
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Saratoga Springs, NY
- Travel nurses from the following counties are NOT eligible:
Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, required for Labor & Delivery
- BLS – AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA preferred
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) – NCC certification required for all Labor and Delivery RNs
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Advanced EKG/ECG testing with a minimum passing score (90% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms) within 72 hours of contract signing
- Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (New York State requirement for all RNs)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; onsite physical with Occupational Health prior to start
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold within 1 year) or chest X-ray if prior positive PPD
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR boosters or positive titer
- Mumps – 2 MMR boosters or positive titer
- Rubella – 2 MMR boosters or positive titer
- Varicella – 2 boosters or positive titer
- Hepatitis B – titer, declination, or vaccine series
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (specific panels required)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5, 2024
- Eye exam including Ishihara color deficiency test prior to start
- Fit mask test (N95 OSHA questionnaire and fit test) – quantitative test only accepted for 3M 1870 mask
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks including 7-year history, SS trace, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Facility-specific documents such as photo for badge, lift assessment (typically 25 lbs), FCRA authorization release, ECG study guide, TSH medical history form, PPD questionnaire
- Completion of virtual general orientation and clinical testing modules prior to start date
- 2 professional references required (travel, allied, per diem acute care)
