Travel RN Opportunity - Telemetry

Position Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
• Weekend Hours: As required by facility
• Call Requirements: None
• Number of Openings: 1
• Unit: Surgical 3B (32 beds)
• Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 1:5-1:6
  • Nights: 1:6-1:8 (estimates)
• EMR System: EPIC
• Equipment: Alaris pumps, telemetry, lift equipment
• Float Requirements: Rotational basis

Licensure & Certifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only)
  • 4 trauma credits (must have or complete within first 2 weeks)
  • NIHSS (must obtain prior to start if not submitted)
• Preferred Certification: ACLS (AHA only)

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in Telemetry, inpatient only
• Skills:

  • Experience and competence in drug titration required
  • Trauma experience preferred (inpatient only)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Patient Population & Unit Focus

• Specialty Surgery patients including GI, GU, ENT, and Urology
• Provides direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinates care with ancillary departments
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Stand and walk most of the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• Exposure to blood and body fluids
• Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling

Additional Information

• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 to April 1 (no declinations accepted)
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires availability for the entire week
• Flexible scheduling options available but must be indicated on submission
• Professional accountability and adherence to nursing standards and facility mission expected
• Dress code: Black scrubs; no torn clothes, open-toed shoes, or non-scrub attire
