Description
Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology - Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM
Locals Allowed: Yes, at the same rate
Required Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Licensure & Certifications
State License:
- Permanent Virginia state license required (temporary RN licenses not accepted)
- Not required for EEG Tech or Cath Lab Tech
- VA state license required for CSTs and OR Techs
Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- PALS (AHA only)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Tech Cert Verification (e.g., CST - NCCT accepted; MRI Tech - ARRT required; Sonography - ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS, CCI, or RVT accepted)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA)
- NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)
Background & Screening Requirements
Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including:
- All states lived/worked in past 7 years
- State of permanent residence
- VA Statewide Repository Search
- SS Trace
- All counties lived/worked in past 7 years
- Nationwide check
- FACIS Level 3
- Sex Offender Registry
- Education Verification (diploma accepted in lieu)
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
Fingerprinting (Virginia VSP National Criminal Background Check) required for certain units and candidates; results may pend but proof of submission must be on file
Virginia Central Registry (CPS) search and documentation required for specific units and candidates; submission must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Tdap vaccine or declination required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days of start or two PPDs as specified)
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Titers and/or boosters required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B: titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant screens not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for 2025-26 season
Competency & Skills
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (required)
- Competency Exam (Sonography or Vascular Tech accepted)
- Abuse Reporting Competency (covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect/exploitation of elderly or incapacitated adults)
- Skills Checklist updated annually (Sonography or Vascular Tech skills accepted)
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Orientation includes exams/tests such as Pharmacology Exam, Point of Care Testing, Airborne Precaution Mask Fitting (not pass/fail)
- Assigned learning modules during orientation (~6 hours to complete)
- Candidates must bring mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and laptop/cell phone (notify if not available)
Documentation & Application
- Complete application/resume required
- Two references required
- Performance evaluations completed at end of assignment, not required prior to start
This position requires compliance with all listed licensure, certification, background checks, health screenings, and competency requirements prior to or during orientation.
