Registered Nurse (MS/Tele - MSU)

Location: Rochester, New York

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Details

• Shift Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Call Off Policy: Up to three shift cancellations allowed during the 13-week contract without penalty
• Floating: Required to float within skillset
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Locals: RNs within 75 miles are not accepted (locals accepted for LPNs)
• Accepts First-Time Travelers: Yes

Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as required by unit
• State License Verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Required Clinical Skills

• MS/Tele with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Oxygen administration (nasal cannula, oxygen tanks), non-invasive airway management
• IV therapy/phlebotomy with peripheral line care/management
• Isolation precautions

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
• Required Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year in specialty (no higher conflicting data)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government Issued Photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification from primary source required
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations/vaccinations required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination or declination
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
• References and employment verification required (varies by agency)
• State-specific checks including NYS Nurse Aide Registry, criminal background fingerprinting, sex offender registry, Medicaid exclusion list as applicable

• Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white

This position is suitable for RNs with MS/Tele experience who meet New York state licensing and certification requirements and are comfortable with night shifts, floating, and working in a high-acuity acute care setting. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
