Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule options: 4x10 or 4x12 hour shifts, day/night rotational and variable shifts including weekends and call.
- Shift times vary by day and shift type (day or night).
- When scheduled on weekends, shifts will be 12 hours; during the same week, 8 or 10 hour shifts will be scheduled to meet contracted weekly hours.
- Level I trauma experience is required.

Onboarding Requirements (Must be completed prior to start)
- MGB Badge Photo: Recent color photo (within 6 months), plain background, no filters or eyeglasses.
- Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed on the official form; no religious exemptions.
- Immunizations and Health History:
- MMR: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine OR two MMR vaccines OR proof of immunity via blood test.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.
- Criminal Background Checks:
- MGB Criminal Background Check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break.
- National Sex Offender Check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
- Education Verification: Verified through background check company for highest level of education.
- Social Security Number Trace: Must be run with criminal check covering last 7 years.
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions.
Optional but Preferred
- Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity or declination.
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years, updated upon expiration.
- Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray documentation if applicable.
- TB Symptom Survey if positive PPD, updated annually.
Additional Notes
- Start date preferred: February 9 or February 23.
- This position requires adherence to strict health and safety protocols including immunizations and fit testing.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or fit testing.
This role is ideal for experienced OR nurses with Level I trauma experience seeking a long-term travel assignment in a Level I trauma center environment with variable shifts and weekend coverage.
