Job Description

• Work areas include Medical/Surgical Units, Telemetry, and Joint Replacement Center.
• Must be able and willing to work in all departments as needed and directed.
• Expected to take a full assignment on med/surg or telemetry units.
• May be floated as "Helping Hands" in ED, psych, CCU, and Childbirth center, but will not take assignments in those areas.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS Certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred)
• ACLS Certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military; AHA preferred)
• Valid professional nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required). MA Conditional Licenses not accepted.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed on the official form; no religious exemptions.
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed.
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• MMR: Documentation of vaccination or proof of immunity via blood test.
• Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
• Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred (vaccination record or proof of immunity or declination).
• Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years.
• Positive PPD: If applicable, negative chest x-ray documentation required.
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.

Background & Professional Requirements

• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, including county and international searches if applicable.
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start.
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start and annually.
• Social Security Number trace as part of criminal background check.
• Education verification of highest level achieved.
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above) in relevant skillset.
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission.
• Confirmation of assignment/POI form required upon acceptance and for extensions.

Additional Notes

• Must submit a professional badge photo (color, recent, plain background, no glasses).
• Inpatient staff are rarely floated to ED, psych, CCU, or Childbirth center, but possibility exists as "Helping Hands."
• No religious or medical exemptions for vaccine or fit test requirements.

This position is suitable for RNs with telemetry experience who are flexible to work across multiple units within a hospital setting and meet all credentialing and health requirements.
