Job Opportunity: RN PCU (Travel)
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Every other weekend
- No on-call required
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Must be AHA certified)
- Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
- License/Certificate verification within 30 days prior to start
- Ascension-specific certifications and competencies including:
- Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; updated yearly)
- NIH Certification (Group A yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years)
- Ascension EKG Exam (passing score of 80%, two attempts allowed)
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical, updated annually)
Onboarding and Training Requirements
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nova StatStrip training (pre-hire modules)
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist (optional for onboarding)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
- Fit Test: Required annually; preferred prior to start (specific mask types required in some states)
- Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually
Professional Documentation
- Driver’s License/State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually or after break in service)
- EPLS check within 90 days of start (rerun if break in service > 90 days)
- Education Verification within 90 days of start (diplomas not accepted; transcripts required if verification fails)
- Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually or after break in service)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation on agency letterhead
Additional Notes
- Nursys verification and license verification require FACIS Questionnaire if any disciplinary actions exist
- All required documents and verifications must be uploaded as specified prior to or at onboarding
- Post-assignment evaluation and legal name change documentation are optional but may be requested
