Travel Nursing Opportunity - Psychiatric RN

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• Adult acute psychiatric unit
• Current capacity: up to 16 patients
• Planned expansion goal: 24-30 patients
• Patient care system currently Cerner, transitioning to EPIC within 1-2 months

Job Summary

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a psychiatric setting
• Manage clinical situations including making assignments and delegating to other care providers
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• RN license in New Mexico or compact license
• BLS certification (AHA only) required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing or related specialty preferred

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required

Additional Notes

• ASAP start, no later than February 9th
• Temporary to permanent preferred
• Looking for experienced Psychiatric/Addiction RNs with strong psych skills to support unit growth
