Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN) in Critical Care Unit (CCU)
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Deliver patient care through nursing process: assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct and coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.
- Operate within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (BSN preferred).
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

- Hepatitis B vaccination strongly preferred.
- Tdap vaccine preferred within last 10 years.
- Fit testing for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break.
Background & Screening
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date, updated if >6 month break.
- Social Security Number trace covering last 7 years.
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually.
- Education verification of highest degree achieved.
- Submission of 2 recent professional references (minimum 1 supervisor or above).
- Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required.
Additional Notes
- A professional color photo (headshot) taken within the last 6 months is required for onboarding.
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation required if fit testing is necessary.
- Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam with 80% passing score required.
- No religious or medical exemptions allowed for flu vaccine or fit testing.
This position is ideal for experienced critical care RNs licensed in Massachusetts who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with a 13-week long-term assignment.
