Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Call Requirement: 10-12 days per month, may include weekends
• Weekend Call: Likely one weekend per month, subject to staffing changes
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; accepts first-time travelers
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience Required: EP Lab and Cath Lab experience

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS: AHA or ARC accepted at start; must renew with AHA only
• BLS: AHA or ARC accepted at start; must renew with AHA only
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required; two attempts allowed
• Pass/Fail Testing: Required for all RNs and Cath Lab Techs (Medication and Dysrhythmia/EKG exams)
• State License Verification: Required
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit/job description

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
• EP Lab and Cath Lab experience required
• Prior travel experience is not required

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 12 months; annual updates required
• Tdap vaccination required
• Hepatitis B vaccination series and/or positive titer or signed declination form required
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start
• Other immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titers or vaccination documentation)
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation, updated annually

Documentation & Background Checks

• Valid government-issued photo ID (passport acceptable)
• I9 or attestation required
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • 7-year county criminal background check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
• Professional references: 2 within last 3 years

Additional Notes

• Photo for badge required (passport style, clear background)
• Candidates must sign job description and various facility-specific forms prior to start
• Medication and EKG study guides provided for competency exams
• Candidates allowed two attempts for competency exams; a third attempt may be allowed with client approval
