Schedule

• 36/36 schedule (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
• Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable time, starting on Sundays (online CBLs)
• Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
• Additional overtime shifts available and may be flexed based on hospital needs

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Certifications & Licenses

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) required

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for ER (can be pending at start)

• NURSYS verification required

Compliance & Background Checks

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed or working in Tennessee
• Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start (does not need annual update)
• Respirator medical evaluation and clearance forms required (time sensitive)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)

Additional Requirements & Responsibilities

• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
• Active participation in nursing student support and clinical education expected alongside clinical care
• Compliance with facility-specific dress code, uniform guidelines, and safety manual acknowledgment
• Photo for badge must meet specific standards and be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing

Orientation & Training

• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Fit mask testing completed onsite for candidates with patient contact

References & Documentation

• Preferably 3 professional references (minimum 2 accepted)
