Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years Medical Surgical (MS) experience
• Ohio or compact nursing license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Telemetry experience required
• Must be willing to float to all campuses
• Call required
• Prior travel experience required; no first-time travelers

Certifications & Training

• BLS (AHA only; AHA RQI certifications acceptable)
• ACLS (AHA only; AHA RQI certifications acceptable)
• PALS preferred for MS and Tele units
• NRP required for certain units (LDRP, NICU, Nursery, OB, RRT, ER)
• TNCC required for ER
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred for ER, ICU
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA)
• STABLE required for Labor and Delivery
• Unit-specific competency exams and core training modules required annually
• Online Healthstream modules must be completed by candidate’s first week
• Epic access and modules completion required (except sterile processing techs)

Licensure & Background Checks

• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs within 30 days of start
• 7-year criminal background check required upon hire and updated annually
• OH BCI and FBI fingerprint attestation required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated with contract renewals

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Fit mask testing required prior to start (specific mask types)
• TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD or equivalent) within 12 months, updated annually
• MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) titers or 2 adult MMR vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal
• Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
• Varicella titer or 2 adult MMR vaccines; booster required if titers negative/equivocal
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually and after breaks in service of 2+ months
• Seasonal flu vaccination required for flu season (9/29 - 3/31) or approved medical/religious exemption with masking during flu season
• COVID exemption form required for medical or religious exemptions, subject to facility review; masking required during flu season if exemption approved

Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
• Performance evaluations required if worked over 1 year with the facility
• Internal evaluations required if worked over 2 years with the facility
• Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, white background, .jpeg format)
• Review and sign facility-specific job descriptions, attendance policy, new employee packets, and training acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of unit-specific training packets and skills check-offs during first week (e.g., Stat Strip Nova Glucometer, Aseptic Compounding IV Medications)

Additional Notes

• No holiday requests time off (RTO) will be approved during holiday weeks; holiday work schedule may vary
• Candidates may start with fingerprints pending only if a clear background check is on file
• Candidates may be compensated for up to 8 hours for completing required online modules prior to start
• Radiation badges issued to applicable candidates by the client (not managed by agency)

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical RNs with prior travel experience who are flexible and able to meet comprehensive credentialing, health, and compliance requirements.
