Position Details

- Unit: CVICU, Neuro ICU, Burn ICU (float between these units as needed)
- Additional Assignments: May be assigned Med/Surg/IMC patients if needed
- Floating: Must be able to float onsite within skill set or to sites within 40 miles
Experience Requirements

- Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccines (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Positive PPD or Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire (preferred but optional)
- Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types required for WI and MI)
- Health Statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA testing within required timeframes
Testing & Competencies
- Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; minimum 80% score; updated yearly
- Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score required; updated as needed
- Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist; updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes 12 drug categories; updated annually
- Ascension Epic Test-Out: Required for Epic system proficiency
- Ascension Color Vision Test: Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding and related education attestations and checklists
Documentation & Verification
- Resume/Profile submission required
- At least two professional references required
- Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (updated annually)
- Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
- Education Verification relevant to clinical work (updated if break in service > 90 days)
- Confirmation of Assignment documentation required for each assignment and extension
- Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations
This position requires flexibility to float between critical care units and potentially other patient care areas within the facility or nearby locations. Candidates must maintain all required certifications, immunizations, and verifications current and comply with all onboarding and competency testing requirements.
