Job Description

• Must have surgical experience including:

  • Urology
  • Trauma
  • Orthopedic
  • General Surgery
  • ENT
  • Other surgical diagnoses
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
• Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated, assume minimum 1+ year surgical nursing experience based on specialty requirements
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, preferred
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, if applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - if applicable
• State RN License (Permanent license required, no temporary licenses accepted)
• NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Tech Cert Verification - National within 30 days of start

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, including all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 60 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 60 days of start
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Missouri State Mandated EDL Search within 60 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit Mask Test within 12 months of start (specific mask models required)
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year of start; if positive, clear chest x-ray within 5 years and TB questionnaire within 1 year
• TB Questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required if assigned to NICU or Family Birthplace, within 10 years of start
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31) or approved exemption
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start

Competency & Skills Testing

• EPIC Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) administered onsite; 2 attempts allowed
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Color Blind Testing (Relias online exam accepted)
• Core competency exams as applicable

Additional Requirements

• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility-specific e-learning within 3-5 days of receiving access
• Two professional references required
• Annual skills checklist required
• Employment application required

This position follows a 75-mile radius rule for travel.
