Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (Nights)

Specialty

• Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in ICU, specifically Cardiovascular Unit (CVU)
• Required specialty experience: 1+ year (floating experience does not count)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Unit Description

• Cardiovascular Unit cares for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually
• Procedures include PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, bi-ventricular pacemakers
• Care for approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) discharged annually
• Specializes in congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies
• Unit recognized with a Silver level Beacon Award (AACN) and redesigned for optimal outcomes
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Dress code: Navy Blue Scrubs

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in specialty (ICU/Cardiovascular)
• Comfort with EKG interpretation [Required]
• Willingness to float to similar units [Required]
• Michigan RN license verification required (LARA and Nursys)
• Skills checklist completed within one year for RN specialties required
• Physical copies of certifications only required if specifically listed
• Full-time employees of the health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Neuro, CVICU, Trauma
• Managing ventilators
• Experience with CRRT and Balloon Pumps

Additional Important Information

• Strict 3-strike attendance policy: termination after 3 absences or being more than 20 minutes late for scheduled shifts (exceptions for communicable disease or hospitalization with evidence)
• Nonbillable initial hours: 12 hours
• Local traveler policy: travel rate reduced by 10% if permanent address is within 35 miles of facility
