Job Description

• Position: ARU (Acute Rehab Unit) Registered Nurse
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 patients on days, 1:5-6 patients on nights
• Patient Population: Post-surgical, post-stroke, CHF, patients requiring prolonged physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy (typically 1+ week stay)
• Care Focus: Daily care activities, occasional IVs, lab draws; non-telemetry unit
• Team Environment: Collaborative work with physical therapy and care management teams to plan patient discharge

Requirements

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of specialty experience preferred (1 year experience accepted for first-time travelers)
• Education: BSN required
• Certifications:

  • RN State License and/or Compact State Licensure (pending license acceptable if obtained before start)
  • BCLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• Testing: Must pass Basic EKG (Dysrhythmia) exam with 80% or higher (2 attempts allowed)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted with 2 years experience

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including national criminal, state, county, SSN trace, sex offender, and federal exclusions
• Education verification (official transcript or diploma with graduation date)
• Primary source verification of certifications and licenses within 30 days of start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (includes multiple drug panels)
• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Immunizations/vaccinations:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or declination accepted
  • Hepatitis B - vaccination series, titer, or declination accepted
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or declination accepted
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
• TB test (PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year and updated annually; chest x-ray and questionnaire required if positive
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Required to review and sign confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, and complete orientation quiz with minimum 84% score
• References: 2 professional references within last 3 years
• Employment application, skills checklist, and work history verification required
