Description

Job Opportunity: RN (Registered Nurse) – Clinical Oncology

Location: Boise, Idaho
Specialty: Clinical Oncology (Outpatient)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Key Details

  • Unit: Clinical Oncology Boise
  • Facility Size: 13 exam rooms
  • Providers per Day: 4 MDs and 3 NP/PAs
  • Patient Volume:
    • MDs see 18-20 patients per day
    • NP/PAs see 10-13 patients per day

Required Experience & Certifications

  • Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of outpatient oncology experience (higher value confirmed)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers are welcome
  • Certifications:
    • BLS required
    • Oncology certification (ONC) preferred

Job Responsibilities

  • Triage patients
  • Outgoing phone calls and phone assessments
  • Patient education and care coordination
  • Clinical assessments

Work Environment & Scheduling

  • EMR System: EPIC
  • Shifts:
    • Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
    • Option for four 9-hour shifts with a possible set day off
    • Variable start times, with efforts to maintain consistent schedules
  • Weekend/Holiday Requirements: None
  • Call/Standby: None
  • Floating: Yes, may float to 4 outpatient oncology sites within the Treasure Valley area (Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Fruitland)
  • Orientation: 3-10 days, including triage and NP/PA shadowing depending on clinic needs
  • Dress Code: Any clean and professional scrub color

Additional Notes

  • Nurse supervisor present daily on each shift
  • Medical Assistants or CNAs assigned per provider
  • Travelers will always work alongside other RNs; no solo assignments
  • High traveler retention rate (over 70%) indicating a supportive team environment
