Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in specialty (Registered Nurse)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for ER; must be current and issued by ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required for all RNs; must be current and issued by ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for all ED staff; must be current
• Other certifications (preferred but not required): PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)

Licensure

• Must hold a valid Washington D.C. nursing license
• License must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start date
• NURSYS verification required

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination required (no medical or religious exemptions accepted)
• Background check: 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, and other standard checks within one year of start
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• Physical exam: Initial and annual physical exam attesting to ability to meet job demands; must use facility-specific form
• Fit mask testing: Annual fit testing required within one year of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination form)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine, titer, or declination form)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if needed)
  • Flu vaccine required annually (religious/medical exemptions accepted with approval)
• Other health documents: Eye exam including visual acuity, color blind exam (mandatory, online not accepted)
• Employment application and clinical references required
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
