Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg/Tele)

Location: Southbridge, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
Patient Ratio: 6 to 7 patients per RN during night shift

Job Details

  • Massachusetts RN License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) optional but recommended
• Patient care setting includes medical-surgical and telemetry units.

Experience Requirements

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks including 7-year search and Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within the past year (3M-1860-Regular or Small)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (proof of immunity or booster series)
  • Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within past 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start (with specific protocols for past positives)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including Marijuana/THC)
• Seasonal vaccinations or declinations required:

  • Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination
  • COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination (no medical exemptions accepted)
• Professional references:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 2 years of start)

Competency Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• General competency exam as applicable

Notes

• No declinations accepted for MMR or Varicella vaccines.
• ACLS is required for ER and Oncology but optional here; BLS is mandatory.
• Facility-specific COVID and flu declination forms must be completed if vaccines are declined.
• This is a night shift travel assignment with a 13-week duration.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg and Telemetry experience who is comfortable working night shifts and has EPIC EMR experience.
