Description
Job Opportunity: Pediatric Physical Therapist (PT) - Outpatient
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Pediatric Physical Therapy)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Preferred Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM; flexible to 5 days/week if needed
Daily Caseload: 6-7 patients per day
Patient Population: Pediatrics
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Documentation System: Cerner
Productivity Expectations: Bill 25 hours per week (scheduled for 29 hours/week)
Therapy Team Model: Multidisciplinary Rehab Team
Equipment Available: Parallel bars, LiteGait, FES
Dress Code: Any scrub color
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years in Pediatric Physical Therapy
- First-time Travelers Accepted: Yes
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
Certifications & Licenses Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA only; must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start)
- Other certifications may be required based on unit/specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) but BLS is specifically noted for this role
- State License: Copy of professional license required before start
- Primary Source Verification of license required (cannot expire within 30 days of start)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification (transcript/diploma accepted if pending)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and color blindness testing
- Physical exam within 30 days of start (must include latex allergy information)
- Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive quantitative titer)
- Hepatitis B series and quantitative titer or declination form
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive quantitative titer)
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (must include marijuana)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination required for tracking purposes
- Facility-specific training modules and acknowledgements must be completed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: maximum 6 days off; if a full week off is taken, an extra week must be added to the end of the contract
- Photo for badge must be submitted immediately after signing; specific photo guidelines apply
- Two professional references dated within the past two years required (preferably supervisors/managers)
- Employment application and skills checklist required
