Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health
• Prior travel experience required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• SAMA (State-specific Advanced Medical Assistant or equivalent)
• Epic charting experience required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, CPI certifications as applicable

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• Valid State License verification (primary source)
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Education verification (transcript/diploma acceptable if verification pending)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Competency Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online acceptable)
• Core competency exams as applicable, with annual renewal
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this travel contract.
• Orientation packet and acknowledgment required prior to start.
• Clear headshot photo required for badge issuance.
• Fingerprinting required for New Mexico placements only (not applicable here).
• Employment application and 7-year work history verification required.
