Job Details

• Schedule: 36/36 (36 hours on, 36 hours off)
• No Call
• Floating Required (including floating to Medical-Surgical units on 1:7 ratios)
• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• Orientation: 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
• The hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without financial penalty due to census changes
• Additional shifts beyond the work commitment may be flexed based on hospital census without penalty
• Contract RNs/LPNs are expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• Accepts: 1st time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
• Certifications:

  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Licensure: Valid Tennessee nursing license or eligibility to work in Tennessee
• Background Checks: Must pass comprehensive background checks including SSN trace, education verification, and adult abuse registry (if licensed in TN)
• Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
• Vaccinations/Health Requirements:

  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
  • Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Other Health Documents: Physical exam within 1 year of start, respirator medical clearance, and fit mask testing completed onsite
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency and general competency exams required
• Orientation and Facility Policies: Must review and comply with facility-specific dress code, uniform guidelines, contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement, smoking and tobacco use policy, influenza policy, and respirator use guidelines

Additional Notes

• Background checks and verifications must be current within 30 days of start
• Photo for badge must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
• Staff info form and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire are time sensitive and must be completed promptly
• Participation in clinical education and nursing student support is part of the role

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of experience who are open to travel assignments and floating within related units. Prior travel experience is not required.
