Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Springfield, Missouri

Position Details
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Number of Openings: 1

- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge or other circumstances
- Unit Beds: 68
- EMR System: EPIC
Licensure & Certifications
- Required Licensure: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — from American Heart Association only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) — may be submitted without but must be obtained prior to start
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience:
- Minimum 1 year in Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma Center OR
- 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility (must be indicated on resume)
- Preferred Experience:
- Trauma and pediatric experience
- High acuity environment with 200+ patients per day
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality
- Work within the scope of nursing practice and applicable state regulations
- Utilize nursing process and Mercy Service Standards in care delivery
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Busy urban Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Work area is typically clean and air-conditioned
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel period November 1 - April 1 (declinations not accepted)
- No block scheduling available
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Dress code: Black scrubs; unprofessional attire such as jeans not allowed
