Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (5x8s)
- No call, no weekends, no holidays (may take occasional late shift if needed)
- Unit: Pre-op and post-op area for a busy GI lab (Endoscopy, PACU/recovery)
- Patient Volume: Average daily census of 60 patients
- Role:
- Procedure monitoring experience is a must
- Will float within the service line
- Experience needed in pre and post recovery of GI patients
- PACU and ED nurses would be successful in this role
- Some GI knowledge preferred to provide patient education
Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience
- Prior Travel Experience: Not a first-time traveler; prior travel experience required
- Certifications:
- BCLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Skills:
- Starting IVs
- Recover monitored anesthesia care sedation
- Preferred: Experience in outpatient endoscopy center and pre/post procedure care

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months required (including statewide and nationwide searches)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Fingerprinting required for certain assignments (especially in Illinois long-term care or rehab units)
- Verification of highest education related to nursing required
- State-specific background checks and license verifications required
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required
- Fit mask test (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Annual HIPAA acknowledgement, latex allergy questionnaire, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policy reviews required
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) through WorkRamp required before start
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
- Professional references required (two, with supervisors preferred)
Additional Notes
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a high patient census
- Must be comfortable floating within the service line
- Prior experience in PACU, ED, or GI/endoscopy settings is highly beneficial
- Must be proficient with EPIC electronic medical records system
This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with GI or procedural recovery experience looking for a weekday schedule without weekends or call.
