Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Emergency Room (ER)
• Schedule: Weekend every other week
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years (Note: Unit does not accept first-time travelers)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Certifications & Skills

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• EPIC (Electronic Health Record system proficiency)

Orientation & Compliance

• Orientation hours vary by contract length (e.g., 12 weeks = approx. 12 hours)
• Full compliance with credentialing and documentation required to start on time
• If compliance is not met, start date may be delayed by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule

Holiday Work Expectations

• If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it
• If 2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both
• If 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them

Major Holidays Include:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Required Documentation & Health Requirements

• Valid State License (Georgia)
• Background Check (within 30 days of start)
• Education Verification (degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof)
• Physical Exam (within 12 months)
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending)
• TB Testing (PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months) and TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)

Competency Exams & Additional Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
• Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ER and related specialties)
• Competency Exam (required for Nursing by Aya)

Notes

• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Number of non-billable orientation hours is proportional to contract length
• Must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of specialty experience who are comfortable working weekends every other week and meeting comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
