Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med Surg)
• Unit: Ortho/Surgical Unit
• Shift: Nights (3x12-hour shifts 7pm-7am, then 4x12-hour shifts; rotating 48-hour work weeks)
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• License: Mississippi state or compact RN license required
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers are welcome)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender registry
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
• Copy of BSN/ASN diploma
• Nursys verification prior to start
• Signed Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (Joint Commission Training Safety Manual)
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start and upon expiration
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
• Competency Exam as applicable to specialty
• Facility-specific documents including vaccination policy, respirator questionnaire, and new hire forms
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (9 panel) within 90 days prior to start
• Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• Two professional references within 3 years
• Skills checklist

State-Specific Requirements (Mississippi)

• MSDH Criminal History Fingerprint Results required for patient-facing positions, valid for 2 years

This position is suitable for nurses with Med Surg experience looking for a night shift travel contract in Mississippi. Prior travel experience is not mandatory.
