Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Certifications Required
- RN Idaho License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior) - as applicable
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC - as applicable
Essential Job Functions
- Apply the Nursing Process for patients across all age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics
- Thorough documentation following regulatory and hospital requirements
- Manage healthcare resources responsibly
- Maintain clinical competencies and support professional development
- Practice clinical skills using theoretical knowledge
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Skills and Abilities
- Good judgment, patience, and professional demeanor
- Ability to work in a busy, stressful environment adapting to patient safety requirements
- Proficient with computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Advanced math skills, creativity, problem analysis, teamwork, and decision-making
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
Additional Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Completion of employment application/resume
