Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele (MSU)

Location: Rochester, New York

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Shift: 4x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Call Off Policy: Up to three shifts may be canceled by client during the 13-week contract without penalty
• Locals: RNs within 75 miles are not accepted (radius rule)
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not a Compact state)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM certifications as required by unit
• State License Verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start

Required Clinical Skills

• MS/Telemetry nursing with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
• Oxygen administration (nasal cannula, oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management)
• IV therapy/phlebotomy with peripheral line care/management
• Isolation precautions

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
• Floating required within skillset
• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combinations

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year in MS/Tele or equivalent critical care experience
• Prior travel experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete the following within 5 days of contract signing:

• Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire annually
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
• Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Verification

• 7-year criminal background check required within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 3 months of start and run monthly
• Education verification from primary source required
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Employment verification of at least 2 past employments required
• References required for some candidates (Aya only)

• Magnet-recognized, advanced thrombectomy capable stroke center facility
• Facility offers specialized services including cardiac, oncology, neuroscience, pediatric emergency, and birthing centers
