Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Emergency Department (ED) experience for a travel contract position. The role involves caring for level 1 resuscitation patients in an acute care hospital setting.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2.5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Minimum 1 year of neuro/stroke experience
• Must have completed 2 previous travel assignments (prior travel experience required)

Work Details

• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: Yes, within scope
• Local travelers not accepted (must live more than 30 miles from facility)
• Open to block scheduling on a case-by-case basis
• Return to Office (RTO) parameters: No more than 10 days, with an additional 2 weeks added to assignment; no RTO during first or last week of assignment

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except PACU, OR, Women’s Center, or Case Management)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• Experience with level 1 resuscitation patients
• Must comply with strict attendance policies (3 call outs = termination)
• Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment
• Charting system: Meditech
• Scrub color: Any (no tee shifts, sweatshirts, or logos from other organizations)
• Parking: Free in unrestricted spaces

Compliance & Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 6 months, including social security trace, nationwide checks, education verification, etc.
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Education verification (ASN, BSN, or MSN) required
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 3 months of start
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Immunizations or titers required for: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation required; religious or medical exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms
• Flu vaccine or declination documentation recommended but not required for contract workers
• Two professional references within 2 years required
• Performance evaluation within last year required if applicable
• Completion of facility-specific orientation, quizzes, and acknowledgment forms mandatory prior to start
