Job Description

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing and managing patient care through the nursing process. The role involves working with advanced radiation therapy equipment and delivering various types of treatments.

Work Schedule & Conditions

• Typical hours: 36-40 hours/week (overtime billable after 40 hours)
• Holidays: Required to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited time off allowed during late November and late December holiday periods
• Scrubs color: Black

Equipment & Treatment Types

• Equipment: TrueBeam, Halcyon, TrueBeam Edge (experience highly preferred)
• Treatment types: SRS, SRT, SBRT, VMAT, 3D, Electrons, HyperArc
• Patient volume: Approximately 80 patients per day
• Team includes radiation oncologists, physicists, and dosimetrists

Requirements

• Licensure: Iowa State Radiation Oncology license (required)
• Experience: Minimum 24 months (2 years) of recent/current Radiation Therapy experience (required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Highly preferred but not required
• Certifications:

  • ARRT certificate with "T - radiation therapy" discipline (required)
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certificate (required)
• Skills:

  • EPIC EMR experience (required)
  • ARIA/Eclipse experience (highly preferred)
  • Equipment experience with TrueBeam, Halcyon, TrueBeam Edge (highly preferred)
• Other:

  • Valid Driver’s License (required)
  • Skills checklist specific to Radiation Therapy discipline (required)
  • Professional references within the last 24 months (preferred)

Additional Notes

• Orientation dates available: March 2 or March 9
• The facility is recognized for quality cancer care and uses a multidisciplinary approach with access to state-of-the-art technology and clinical trials.
• On-call, overtime, and holiday pay multipliers apply but are not detailed here.

This position is ideal for Radiation Therapists with solid recent experience, required licensure and certifications, and familiarity with advanced radiation therapy equipment and EMR systems. Prior travel experience is a plus.
