Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a 26-bed Acute Care Unit with a diverse patient population, primarily General Surgery and Trauma patients.
• Approximately 90% post-surgical patients, 10% medical diagnoses.
• All rooms equipped for cardiac monitoring, capnography/end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry.
• Night shift position.
• Start date: 02/16 only.
• Shift length: 36 or 48 hours.
• Block scheduling is NOT guaranteed or accommodated.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Up to 40 hours can be approved for time off.
• Must adhere to the facility’s float policy.
• Epic electronic health record experience required.
• Virginia nursing license can be pending at submission.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred but not required.

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse

• Drug testing: 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl, within 2 months of start and updated annually.
• Health documents:

  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually.
  • Immunizations and titers: Tdap, TB (2-step PPD or Qgold), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccination (no exemptions).
• Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions.
• Various facility-specific forms and screenings (e.g., professional appearance guidelines, TB screening, traveler compliance).

• Acute care setting with trauma and surgical patients.
• Night shift with long hours (36 or 48 hours).
• No block scheduling; flexibility required.
• Every other weekend and holiday work required.
• Must be able to float per facility policy.
