Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work on a 26-bed Acute Care Unit with a diverse patient population, primarily General Surgery and Trauma patients.
- Post-surgical patients comprise 90% of the unit; remaining 10% have medical diagnoses.
- All rooms equipped for cardiac monitoring, capnography/end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry.
- Night shift position.
- Start date: 02/16 only.
- Shift length: 36 or 48 hours.
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed.
- Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Up to 40 hours can be approved for time off.
- Must adhere to the facility’s float policy.
- Candidates can submit with a Virginia nursing license pending.
- Epic electronic health record experience required.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not required.
- State nursing license (Virginia) required or pending.
- Education verification: BSN preferred; ASN required if BSN not held.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and others as per facility policy.
- Drug testing within 2 months of start, updated annually (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl).
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or antigen titer if antibody low/negative)
- Varicella vaccination or titer (declination accepted but required for clearance)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions or declinations accepted)
