Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma / Medical Surgical
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma / Medical Surgical
- Start Date: Approximately 3-4 weeks from compliance clearance
- Shift Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (75 mile radius rule)
- Pending License: Accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract; missed shifts should be made up ASAP

- Level 1 Trauma Experience
Patient Population & Unit Details
- Patients admitted from Emergency Department (ED), Operating Room (OR), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Geriatric trauma patients (55 years and older)
- Trauma cases including abuse/violence victims, motor vehicle accidents (MVA/MVC), falls
- Acute Care Surgery cases: appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Use of special equipment: lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, external fixators

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal Background Check (7-year search, statewide, nationwide, international if applicable) within 6 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks quarterly
- Education verification of highest nursing degree
- Professional license primary source verification (Missouri licenses via NURSYS)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and not expire during assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required: Tdap, TB testing or questionnaire, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Unit-specific competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
- Background checks and state-specific searches as required by Missouri and Illinois regulations
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, hand hygiene, dress code, and orientation modules (approx. 16 hours) must be completed prior to start

- Floating within scope expected

- Local candidates outside 75-mile radius not accepted
- Must adhere to facility policies including fingernail, dress code, and hand hygiene policies
- Orientation and training modules are mandatory and time-sensitive
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
