Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
• Local rates apply within 75 miles
• Epic experience preferred but not required
• Required certifications: BLS, ARRT-CT
• Experience with one or more of the following equipment: GE, Hitachi, Phillips, Siemens, Toshiba
• Clinical experience with:

  • Abdomen/pelvis
  • Chest
  • Head/neck
  • Multiplanar reconstruction (preferred)
  • Preparation/administration of contrast media
  • Starting IVs
  • Spine/musculoskeletal
  • Aspirations/biopsies (preferred)
  • Drainage (preferred)
  • Brain perfusion (preferred)
  • PACS
  • CTAs (preferred)
• Computerized documentation skills
• Knowledge of isolation precautions
• Experience with all age groups from neonate to older adult
• Work settings: inpatient and/or outpatient
• Required specialty experience: Minimum 2 years in Radiology/Cardiology specialty

Requirements

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AAP only
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as applicable
• State License verification (Primary Source Verification)
• NURSYS verification for RNs
• NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)
• Tech Certification Verification (National) for allied professionals

Background Checks & Verifications

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check required
• HHS/OIG check required
• Education verification required (transcript or diploma acceptable if verification unavailable)
• State-specific abuse registry check (KY) if applicable
• Employment application required
• 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical)

Health & Immunization

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required for non-clinical)
• Fit mask test annually (with waiver process for failed tests)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start, updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
• Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination required
• Varicella - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required; declinations not accepted
• Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); declinations not accepted
• COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption required; facility-specific exemption form must be completed

Competencies

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Color blind testing online prior to start
• Competency exam required for clinical candidates

Facility Specific

• Badge photo required (shoulders up, solid light background)
• Respiratory fit test waiver process available for failed fit tests
• Flu and COVID exemption forms handled internally; no need for facility approval

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Specialty experience requirement: 2 years minimum in Radiology/Cardiology.
• Work involves both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a wide range of patient ages.
• Must be able to operate and have experience with multiple CT equipment brands and procedures.
