Job Opportunity: House Supervisor (Registered Nurse)

Location: Gouverneur, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Role: House Supervisor
  • Average Daily Census: 19
  • Beds: 25
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required
  • Unit Type: Scattered bed unit serving swing bed, detox, and medical patients
  • Patient Diagnoses: CHF, Pneumonia, chest pain observation, syncope, diverticulitis, cellulitis, COPD, alcohol withdrawal, opiate withdrawal, debility

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a House Supervisor or RN Manager (highest required years of experience)
  • Prior travel experience: Not accepted (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
  • Locals: Not accepted; must live more than 50 miles away
  • Return to Office (RTO): 7 days max

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government Issued Photo ID
  • 7 Year Criminal Background Check (including aliases, national/state/county checks, sex offender registry, education verification)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification from Registrar’s office (transcripts/diplomas not accepted)
  • State License verification (NY State online verification within 30 days)
  • NURSYS verification for RN/LPN within 30 days
  • Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (required annually)
  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required
  • Color Blind Testing (one-time)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • Photo for Badge (passport-style with solid background)
  • Facility-specific policy reviews (Patient Confidentiality, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Patient Experience Training, etc.)
  • Attestations for Pre-Employment Compliance and Health Records

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Fit Mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types accepted; PAPR exemption if failed)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (TD not accepted)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year; TB Questionnaire if applicable
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (surface antibody positive, completed series, or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Drug Testing within 30 days of start (specific panels required depending on booking date)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Eye Exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start

Additional Requirements

  • 2 professional references required
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually)
  • 7-year work history verification (Aya’s attestation letter accepted as last resort)

This position requires a highly experienced RN with supervisory skills, certifications, and compliance with strict health and background requirements. Prior travel experience is mandatory as first-time travelers are not accepted.
