Job Opportunity: Perfusionist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Perfusionist
- Shift: 5x8 Day shifts
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 4 years preferred
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend call rotation approximately every 5th weekend with possible holiday coverage
- On-call Requirement: Yes, as needed
- Block Schedule: Possible, discuss with manager
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
- Guaranteed Hours: Client may call off up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for cancelled hours; on-call shifts count as called-off shifts

- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA (RQI acceptable)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - required based on unit/specialty
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - required based on unit/specialty
- National Tech Certification Verification (Primary Source Verification)
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a Perfusionist (higher value taken if discrepancies)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
- Background checks including criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusions within 30 days of start
- Education verification required (official or unofficial transcripts accepted if pending)
- Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
- References: 2 professional references required for clinical candidates
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or equivalent
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
State-Specific Requirements (Illinois)
- Fingerprints must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for clinical candidates without an IL state license
- Illinois Department of Corrections inmate search within 30 days of start
- Illinois Most Wanted search within 30 days of start
- Illinois State Police Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry search within 30 days of start
Additional Notes
- Badge photo required within one week of signing contract
- Candidate must review and sign Code of Conduct within 7 days of contract signing
- Parking permit form must be completed within 7 days of contract signing if applicable
- Facility accommodates latex allergies
