Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 5 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Daily Patient Census: Approximately 125 patients
- Facility Level: Level 1 facility experience preferred
- Start Date: Immediate / Quick start available (from 2/16)
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- On-call: No
- Locals Accepted: No (75-mile radius rule)
- Pending State License Accepted: Yes, but must obtain prior to starting
Required Certifications
- ARRT (CT) Certification
- SCRQSA Certification
- State License: Must have valid state license prior to start (Primary Source Verification required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates (AHA or RQI acceptable)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, STABLE, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI: Required or preferred depending on unit (check with facility for specifics)
- Tech Certification Verification: ARRT National Certification and State License required for CT Tech
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement: Required for all candidates
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for RNs (not applicable for this role)
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
- Must comply with facility attendance policy: missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may lead to contract review/cancellation
- Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
- Must complete all required background checks and verifications
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- South Carolina Statewide Search required regardless of residence/work history
- Education verification required (highest level of education must be associates or higher; certificates alone are not sufficient)
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxycodone + Marijuana)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start
- Required immunizations/vaccinations or approved exemptions:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Seasonal Flu (or declination with mask requirement)
- COVID-19 vaccination (Dose 1 and 2 required or declination form)
- Respirator medical clearance if applicable (annual)
Competencies & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for RNs (not applicable for this role)
Facility Specifics
- Photo for badge required (headshot on plain background)
- Facility-specific orientation and documentation will be provided prior to start
- All required documents and restrictions must be submitted with initial application (no retroactive requests for time off)
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for a CT Tech with at least 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology. The position requires ARRT (CT) certification, state licensure, and compliance with a comprehensive set of background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific requirements. The shift is weekend nights with a quick start date. First-time travelers are accepted, and prior travel experience is not required.
