Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Start Date: End of April
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 0650-1920
• Float required between mother/baby and scrub roles
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Scrub experience required; must be able to scrub as backup as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required (will consider 2 years if experience is solid)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience is NOT required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – required; AWHONN acceptable as placeholder if candidate registers for C-EFM course
• STABLE certification required with submission
• ACLS preferred but not mandatory

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to complete facility-specific modules prior to start
• Background checks including criminal, education verification, and federal/state screenings required
• Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Competency exams required including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG exams (with specific passing criteria)
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps

Work Environment & Responsibilities

• Must be able to float between mother/baby care and scrub roles
• Required to scrub as backup when needed
• Call shifts and weekend work required as specified
