Job Description
This is a travel contract position for a Speech Language Pathologist working in a school setting.
Required Qualifications
- License: Must hold a valid Speech Language Pathologist license appropriate for Colorado.
- Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; default to highest requirement found (no conflicting data, so standard licensure and experience expected).
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or ARC).
- State Teaching Certificate or Credential relevant to Special Education or Speech Language Pathology as required by Colorado Department of Education (CDE). Candidates may start with certification pending if application is submitted and in process.
- Educational Services - Mandatory Reporter training required and must be updated annually.
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 1 year of start and updated annually, including multiple levels of checks (SS Trace, Federal, Nationwide, County, Sex Offender Search) for the last 7 years of residency/work/school.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
- Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI)/FBI fingerprinting required, including two sets of prints (one for Aya and one for client). Fingerprint clearance attestation required prior to start.
- State Specific Requirements:
- Colorado CAPS Release Authorization form must be completed prior to start. Candidate must provide 5 years of residency information.
- Temporary Educator Eligibility (TEE) verification may be required if candidate does not qualify for Professional Teaching License or Special Services Provider license (SSP).
- VECHS Waiver must be completed within 24 hours of signing for fingerprint background check.
- Other Documentation:
- Valid unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Various accounting and employment documents required (W4, I9, Direct Deposit Authorization, Emergency Contact Form, Arbitration Agreement, etc.).
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam, TB testing, immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella), drug testing, and flu vaccination are only required if specified by the client or state.
Additional Notes
- CPR certification is not required for this position.
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) is not required by the client.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests are not required unless specifically requested by the client.
- Candidates must comply with fingerprinting and background check procedures specific to Colorado and the school district.
- Candidates working in Special Education must have the appropriate CDE Special Education Generalist educator certificate or Early Childhood Special Education endorsement if applicable.
This position requires compliance with all state and client-specific credentialing, background checks, and documentation prior to start.
