Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health

Location: Lees Summit, Missouri

Job Description

• Provide, coordinate, and direct home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
• Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Conduct home visits with an average of 5-8 patients per day.
• Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
• Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic, with weekly travel estimated between 300-500 miles.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
• On-call requirement: 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month as needed.
• Weekend requirements vary; discuss during interview.
• Charting system: HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS proficiency required.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Home Health)
• Experience: Minimum 1 full year of recent Adult Home Health experience or 1 full year Hospice experience (whichever applies to specialty). First-time travelers not accepted; recent specialty experience required.
• Certifications: Current CPR and BLS certification required.
• Licensure: Must have an active Registered Nurse license in hand (no pending licenses accepted).
• Reliable transportation and a current driver's license required.
• Must have agency-required liability insurance.
• Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) within the last 6 months; if not, retraining required.
• Proficiency in OASIS required for RNs.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Scrubs.
• Productivity expectation: 30 units per week.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• Must start within 2 weeks of submission.
• Contract created due to staffing needs.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender, and state-specific searches.
• Drug screening (10-panel) required.
• Physical exam within 12 months confirming good health and no communicable diseases.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
• Immunization or titer proof for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• COVID-19 vaccination series or declination required.
• Various state-specific and facility-specific compliance documents and attestations must be completed prior to start.
• Personal or auto insurance required for home health placements.

Prior Travel Experience
