Job Overview

Join a dynamic, family-centered Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns. This role offers variety and meaningful patient connections in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for laboring, delivering, and postpartum mothers and their newborns in a combined LDRP setting.
• Manage continuous fetal monitoring and assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Deliver immediate newborn care, support breastfeeding, and provide patient education.
• Handle antepartum admissions, post-delivery recovery, and newborn nursery assessments.
• Collaborate closely with OB providers, anesthesia, lactation consultants, and support staff.
• Complete accurate documentation, discharge teaching, and patient follow-up education.

Schedule

• 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts, based on traveler preference.
• Block shift accommodations available.

Required Qualifications

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
• Experience: Minimum 2 years nursing experience required; 1 year Labor & Delivery experience acceptable.
• Licensure: Valid RN license in Mississippi.
• Certifications preferred or required:

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (as required)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (as required)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) (as required)

Required Documentation and Compliance

• Proof of I9 or attestation.
• Government-issued photo ID and state-issued RN license verification.
• Social Security card.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
• Education verification as requested.
• Physical exam within last 12 months.
• Fit mask certification within 12 months (annual renewal required).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual update).
• Immunizations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination documentation as required.
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
