Description

Job Opportunity: CT Technologist (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Carmel, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shifts:
    • X-Ray: Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    • CT: Saturday and Sunday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • On-Call: Required (1 weekend per month and 1-2 weekdays per month, including holidays)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes
  • Call Shifts: Up to 4-5 per month
  • Floating: No floating between units or sister facilities
  • Block Schedule: To be discussed
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • 8 and 10 hour shifts: 40 hours/week
    • 3 twelve-hour shifts: 36 hours/week
    • 4 twelve-hour shifts: 48 hours/week
  • Work Environment:
    • Comfortable working alone at times
    • Multi-modality CT/XR Technologist
    • Equipment includes Siemens, Carestream Portable, Phillips IQon CT Scanners, Siemens DR XR Rooms
    • Patient types: ER, inpatient, outpatient, adult, and pediatrics
    • Stroke 1 Accredited Hospital

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI acceptable
    • ARRT Certification
    • Indiana State License (must be in hand before start; pending license not accepted)
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
    • Must be able to perform general X-ray
    • Must be familiar with Siemens, Carestream Portable, Phillips equipment

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year work/living history verification
    • National Sex Offender check
    • Education verification
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education: Official transcript or diploma (may be pending at start)
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • TB test within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines required)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines required)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
    • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
  • Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent)
  • References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with supervisory titles
  • Skills checklist within 12 months and annually
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps

Additional Notes

  • IU Health will not allow Indiana RNs to work at their facilities after 11/30/24, except for Periop/OR RN’s, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers. This does not affect this CT Tech role.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and meet all certification and licensing requirements prior to start.
  • Must be willing to work required holidays and on-call shifts.

This position is ideal for a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, who holds the necessary certifications and Indiana state license, and is comfortable working weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment.
