Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with scrub experience to support a 3x12 hour shift schedule (0650-1920). The role requires floating between mother/baby and scrub duties, with call responsibilities of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule and every other weekend coverage.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid RN license for Maryland
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • C-EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – AWHONN acceptable as placeholder if C-EFM not yet completed, but must register for C-EFM course
  • STABLE certification
  • ACLS preferred but not required
• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred (will consider 2 years if experience is solid)
• Skills:

  • Scrub experience required
  • Ability to float between mother/baby and scrub roles
• Call: Required 2 shifts per 6-week schedule and every other weekend
• Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to scrub as backup as needed
• Float between mother/baby and scrub duties
• Call coverage as specified

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• E-Verify and I9 documentation required
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and health documentation including:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella documentation or titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia as applicable
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
• Photo for badge with specified requirements

Work History and References

• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (0650-1920)
• Call required 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend coverage required

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN with solid clinical experience, scrub skills, and flexibility to float and cover call shifts. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
